Inspiration: Frank Stella prints

This week I visited the Frank Stella print exhibition at the National Gallery. I have seen his work much before, but I had not seen these works, which were printed by Kenneth Tyler. I was blown away by these prints! 

I loved the mish-mash of media – collage, woodcut, etching, drawing, lithography. I would love to create a similar kind of aesthetic in digital form. The catalogue from the exhibition states that these prints have been described by some critics as a ‘serious lapse in taste’ towards the end of Stella’s career. I couldn’t disagree more.
